It was another very good night of sleep for both of us! The seas were so calm and being midship made us feel virtually no motion, even during morning docking/anchoring. So in a rarity, Gayle didn’t even have to take her preventative Bonine/meclizine!
We got up around 8:30am local time and headed to breakfast in Cabanas around 10am. Tendering processes started around 10:30am. A MSC ship was also in harbor today so it was our first time seeing another ship since this cruise started.
Gayle got her breakfast Mexican tortillas - but we forgot to take photo. Here is a photo of a Mickey Waffle with strawberry sauce and Cool Whip instead.
After breakfast we headed to Goofy's Sports Deck (Deck 13, Aft) to get in a round of putt-putt. Kara WON!!!! That rarely ever happens. The clubs and balls had not yet been reset to the starting location and no score cards or pencils were out (a sign of the low crew member numbers?)
Back to the stateroom to rest and read, as became our daily routine!.
Kara went to an Animation class and drew Pirate Minnie on her iPad.
Then, in a midday luxury, we showered and “got ready”.
Gayle: While “Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” released May 6, I decided to wait to see it on the ship. (Frankly, neither of us are into horror or zombies.) At home I always get Junior Mints for my movie, but since that’s not an option on the ship, it was off to Sweet on You! Planning to be in the theatre for plenty of time, I selected a chocolate covered strawberry gelato milkshake! Meanwhile Kara got her traditional popcorn.
The movie schedule was one of the first things we reviewed and this was pretty much the only time that worked for us. (Otherwise it was offered a couple of times at 11pm and in the middle of Castaway Cay day.) The other notable thing about this showing was that it was in the Walt Disney Theatre (stage shows) instead of the Buena Vista Theatre, where the majority of movies are shown. It made for an extra special environment, except we definitely missed our AMC recliners!
“Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” SPOILERS: I’d heard hints of things as I tried to avoid my usual community/podcast (MCU Podcast & Stranded Panda chat). So I freaked out, silently hitting Kara during the Illuminati scene! As we are both students of and appreciators of music, we also loved that “fight” scene! Otherwise, this movie is near the bottom of my MCU list.
Afterward, we went to the pool grill and got “lupper” during the kid’s Pirate Party. Since we are also not enthusiastic “pirates”, we had dinner on our verandah tonight.
We watched a little television/iPad and played cards until it was time for fireworks at 10:30pm.
We headed up around 9:45pm and even that early we still barely got a decent spot on Deck 12. (Wow do I miss an empty ship! I can’t envision it being completely full again - something we will DEFINITELY experience in September. Sigh.) As we waited for the Pirate Party to begin, Kara dashed down to Sweet on You to grab a Raspberry Macaron gelato. Then it was time to watch Buccaneer Blast (along with the uninspiring pirate show).
We refilled our ice and headed back to the stateroom to go to sleep.
